Absolutely the most positive experience with an awful hospital transfer issue. Fort Lauderdale staff went above and beyond to get our loved one the proper treatment she needed. When our traumatized loved one arrived, staff was aware and conscientious of her bad experience. They welcomed her with open arms and followed through on her necessary further treatment. We saw how the staff were making an effort to improve all patient relations and make patients comfortable. We are very grateful.
On feb 20th 2016 i was brought to fort Lauderdale hospitals Pride unit by Broward reg hospital after the final attempt i made on taking my own life by overdose of 200 plus prescription pills. I had unfortunately been a frequent patient. I was desperate and hopeless and surrendered to the fact that my addiction and alcoholism was the problem. I was treated w so much love and compassion. Somehow my chart fell into the hands of an angel. She saw that i had been there many times and that i needed help. She immediately got in touch w me on the Pride floor and gave me a number of a recovery residence to call. I had been to the Pride unit many many times prior to my last time almost 2 years ago. I truly wanted to change my life i just didnt know how. What happened next was nothing short of a true miracle. I got clean and sober. I went to the recovery residence that i was referred to and was willing to do whatever it took to not return to active addiction. Today i am 20 months sober. And had i not been at fort Lauderdale hospital on the Pride unit i would not have succeeded. The groups definately planted the seed that recovery was possible. And the staff loved me while i didnt love myself. Today i look forward to going back to the Pride unit to carry the message that there is hope! Thank you fort lauderdale hospital for helping me.
Dont go! They treat you like an animal. They only care to drug you up and not help your problem. The group sessions are a joke. The staff is cold hearted and talk down to you. I have nightmares of this place and literally start shaking uncontrollably if i pass by. i came out more damaged then when i went in. I'm not the same. The few men ex-con drug addicts i met (who always surrounded and wanted to touch on me and the staff looked away) even agreed prison had a warmer feeling than this place. PLEASE FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!
I love the staff especially Ray he cares about the individual and making sure that they are taken care of and i also i love the outthe the outpatient staff please keep saving lives.
I called to see if David Cassidy was there because I wanted to donate my liver to him and the lady that answered asked me for the Passcode. I tried explaining to her that I didn't have it because I was trying to help him. She was rude to me about it. She definitely could have been nicer about it.
