I really appreciated checking in online before going to the rental car where I was able to pick up the car of my choice. No irritating rental agents with their propensity to up sale you. I would gladly rent using this process again!

SUPER FRIENDLY service. Nice car for the money. The only downfall is that the cars are not wiped down before you receive them so the windows are all wet and get spotty. If they could just take that extra step to wipe them down so you have a clean car with windows that you can see thru they would get 5 stars. Hopefully they start to do this. (No paper towels to wipe down myself either) Thanks!

Great experience overall. The reservation agent was friendly and fast. The kiosks in the car rental space don't work too well, so the agent walked me over and had me out the door in no time. When I left, the person at the gate noted that the car had not been filled with gas, and offered to have me switch cars. I didn't want to do that, so she just noted that the car did not have to be returned full. All went well. I would rent from Alamo again without hesitation.

The staff at Alamo at the Fort Lauderdale, FL airport were extremely warm, friendly and accommodating. Gino was the customer service representative who checked me in, explained everything to me including the gas package and sent me on my way to pick up my vehicle. I recall having a smile on my face when I left his counter. Next I was escorted to the section to pick out my car and the gentleman was again very helpful, put my luggage in the trunk, started the car and turned the a/c on while I prepared myself to leave. The two staff members at the checkout gate smiled and wished me a good day. I will continue to use Alamo with its reasonable pricing and friendly and helpful staff. Gino also called me after my trip to see whether or not I was satisfied with everything! Great customer service.

I have never rented a car before, so I chose Alamo because of its higher rating compared with other larger names. However, it was a miserable, expensive experience, and I will certainly never be using Alamo again. Firstly, I reserved online ahead of time to save a few bucks. When I checked out their deals, they said they were running a promotion for a free upgrade. Every time I attempted to use the code they gave on their website for the upgrade, it didn’t work and the screen would reset itself to the very beginning of the reservation process. So, annoyed, I rented just a compact car, because that’s all my boyfriend and I would need. Then when we go to pick up our car (at Ft Lauderdale airport), the rep starts adding charges everywhere. My boyfriend was going to do most of the driving, so they charged us $50 for that - even though we asked to change the res to his name so we could avoid that. The rep said “sure” at first and then made a few haphazard clicks on his screen and then said, “oh I guess we can’t do that.” Then he starts harassing us about upgrading to a larger car. And I don’t mean asked us one or twice. He straightforwardly asked us once. We said no. He asked if we were sure. We said yes. We continue with the process and then he interrupts it and says he’ll take $2 off an upgrade to give us a deal (?!). We said no, far more firmly this time. Again, we continue with the process. The rep is chatting with us, and I’m thinking he’s finally done pitching and is just being friendly. Then, nope, we tell him we’re thinking about going to Miami for a day and the rep says, “wow you guys really don’t want that small of a car, you should upgrade...” My boyfriend just cut him off and told him we’d be canceling the reservation if he mentioned it again. He also used that information and charged us for a daily toll pass thing that he said we would need that we didn’t. He also asked what we wanted for protection/coverage and I told him only what was the minimum required by law. He lied straight to my face and then added an expensive protection package. And, yes, I signed the paperwork he gave me, and I missed it, but the process had been so aggravating and arduous, and we had been on the road for 9 hours and since 2am, which he knew and took advantage of. Instead of helping weary travelers, this Alamo rep decided to pounce on our vulnerabilities and charge us almost twice as much as we were expecting.
